Pony Luv :: DS Game Review

Courtesy of Aspyr Media
Aspyr's new Pony Luv game for the Nintendo DS lets you become the proud owner of a lovable pony! This virtual pet game is a discount title that puts a pony in your hands. You care for it, feed it, play with it, dress it up, teach it tricks and you can enter it in competitions - from dressage to races! Gary took his pony, Puddles, for a run and here's his Pony Luv game review.
Lots of Love
There's a fair chunk of fun to be found in
Pony Luv. Picking from
six ponies and giving it a name is a good start. Getting to dress your pony up and
buy accessories for its pasture is nice too. What's great though is that the
races are easy enough for
gamers of any age to play them and win cash to buy more pony stuff!
Pony Problems
The biggest problem with Pony Luv is that it's a
tiny little game. There isn't a lot to do and what you can do is pretty
clunky and plain. Going to the park to practice your pony's tricks is the worst, but it takes practice to master the dressage competition.
Is It A Winner?
Pony Luv is a
cheap game and it shows. It's easy for
gamers of any age to play and dressing up your pony is
fun for a while. But, Pony Luv is a clunky game that runs out of love way too fast. It's a good first-time game for
virtual pet lovers but most gamers will be
left wanting more.
