Star Wars Miniatures: KOTOR Game Review

Courtesy of Wizards
Based on the heroes and villains of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game, the Star Wars Miniatures: KOTOR set puts a pile of sci-fi warriors at your command. It lets you challenge your friends to exciting strategy battles by creating teams of Jedi, Sith and other characters from the hit movies. This new set is loaded with 60 new figs and... well it goes a little crazy. Here's the scoop with our Star Wars toy review.
Video Game-Based
Taking all the awesome characters from the old
KOTOR video game, this set packs seven of 'em to a box for you to collect. It's loaded with new characters from different teams in the game, plus a pile of
droids and some
cool new monsters. You'll also find more of
Darth Vader,
Princess Leia,
Han Solo and even
Jar-Jar Binks!
Knights and Heroes
The best part about this set is that it delivers some solid new pieces for the teams that don't have a lot to choose from. There are also a handful of
awesome robots, including a butt-kicking Sith droid, and some fun new
monsters. It's a
good mix, and a lot of the figs have tons of
weird new powers to really spice things up.
Villains and... Jar-Jar?
Ok, ok...
Jar-Jar is actually a pretty cool fig and will cause a lot of chaos as he stumbles around like a clown. This set is a bit
scary for new players though - there are so many new powers it can make your brain cry.
Taking a Trip
Opening up the awesome story of the
Knights of the Old Republic video game for some inspiration really helped this set. Even though it's rough for new players, this set is
fantastic for fans of the game, really helps add to some teams that need it and even manages to
make Jar-Jar not suck. Wow.
Thumbs Up:
Lots of Sith and Mandalorian figs.
Awesome droids and aliens.
Cool new powers galore!
Jar-Jar hardly sucks at all!!!
Thumbs Down:
Too much weirdness for new players.
Lots of really hard-to-find super rare figs.
