The greatest rock songs of all time just teamed up with the greatest rock guitarists of all time and the crew that made Tony Hawk's legendary skating video games to make Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock! It puts you in the role of a guitar-wielding rock star on the way to becoming a rock god. Can you hack the greatest songs of all time? More importantly, is it a blast? Find out with our Guitar Hero III game review!
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Get Your Rock On!
This is a
beat-matching game you play with a
guitar-shaped controller, hittin' chords to play along with your fave rock
songs. If you match the notes, you're on your way to becoming a rock god. Miss too many notes and you'll be
playing in a garage forever! The main game challenges your skills and pits you against a
rock boss every few levels. You can also invite a
friend over for some
two-player co-op, or rock duels with freaky power-ups to let you mess with the competition.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Rock All Night!
This game is packed with the
greatest rock 'n' roll songs of all time! Everything from classic
Rolling Stones to
modern bands are here and they
sound terrific, especially when you're pounding out the rock chords to bring a song to life. The
online modes are a blast too - letting you go
head-to-head against other players online. To top it all off, the new guitar controllers are
wireless so you can rock out with
dance moves, high-flying jumps and
power slides as you play!
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Rock is Dead
If you put this game on anything but
easy mode you'll
fry your brain and get your fingers twisted in a knot.
It's just that hard. The
Battle mode is
weak too - one or two
power-ups pretty much ends the showdown, and that's no fun especially when you can pull the same stunt on the
bosses for an easy win.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Rock or Suck?
With absolutely
fantastic music, rock solid wireless guitar controllers, and some great
multiplayer modes there's a lot of rock in this game. Just get used to getting your fingers twisted.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is
awesome with a side order of
way too hard!
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Gary's Super Mega Challenge
Want to truly
test your skills? Fire up a
DDR game on a second TV, punch up the same song on each and see if you can hack
dancing and playing at the same time!
Guitar Hero III Thumbs Up:
Absolutely fantastic music.
The wireless guitars are terrific.
Solid multiplayer modes.
Test your rock skills against friends online!
Guitar Hero III Thumbs Down:
For the love of God and all that is holy, play in EASY MODE!!!
Battle mode, even the boss battles, is weak.
Nearly $100 for the guitar controller!
